The Bluffs
The Bluffs is a 330 acre gated residential development with additional related acreage for amenities and future expansion. The Bluffs is located in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain Range. Our development is actually on a mountain peninsula which extends into the 30,000 acre, 52 mile-long Weiss Lake. This unusual location allows us to develop each of our home sites such that all have a water view, with most also having a view of the surrounding mountains.

Unique Weiss Lake Property
The Bluffs sits on a mountain ridge overlooking Weiss Lake. Weiss Lake is an Alabama Power-controlled power-production lake and is supplied by three major rivers, plus numerous creeks and other spring-fed streams. It is among the largest lakes in the southeast and is nationally recognized for its excellent crappie and bass fishing. However, given its size (30,000+ acres/52 miles long/450 miles of shoreline) and the fact thatWeiss Lake is relatively un-crowded, visitors come to participate in all major fresh water recreational activities, including sailing.
There are miles of walking/mountain biking/horseback riding trails throughout the properties, which wander along the streams and rise to the mountaintops overlooking Weiss Lake and the Chattooga, Coosa and Little River.
The Bluffs Weiss Lake properties are located on the southernmost part of the Dirtseller Mountain Range. The name, Dirtseller Mountain, is a translation of the Cherokee name for the mountain, Karte Kunteesky . The lake and rivers almost completely surround the mountain property which has perfectly tiered ridge lines, creating the unique setting with every lot being a view lot.
Cherokee County is rich in Indian and Civil War history. Much of that history is documented in the Cherokee County Historical Museum. The county has over 25,000 full-time residents and a large second-home population with absentee owners from all 50 states and 6 foreign countries. It is among top 10 fastest growing counties in Alabama.

The river flowing through the canyon is the only one in the nation to form on top of a mountain, before thundering with world-class rapids down to DeSoto Falls.
Cherokee Rock Village , located atop Lookout Mountain Ridge, offers views of Weiss Lake and distant cities. The 200 acre park contains boulders as tall as several hundred feet and dating back 300 million years.
